This is a story I found done by a local Oregon TV station-this woman is dying of cancer, and her state health care won’t pay for an experimental chemo treatment that may prolong her life, but they will pay for an assisted suicide. Oregon has a state run health system similar to what the President is proposing, with a commision of doctors who decide on policies for that system. If you watch this video, you’ll notice how the director of that commision, Dr. Som Saha, admits that, like any other government run program, they have a limited amount of funds, and if you invest thousands of dollars into saving one person, you take thousands of dollars away from trying to save another person. Regardless of what the President and the rest of the Democratic Senators and Congressmen would like you to believe, these are the types of decisions that will HAVE to be made in a government run health care system, and they’re going to be made in the same manner; by a government appointed commision or panel of doctors who know nothing about you or your potential to respond to certain types of care-it will simply be a numbers game, with the cost of care becoming the deciding factor.
