America: Home of the Terrorists and Land of the ACLU

Well, all of you left wing sycophants ought to be dancing in the streets and rejoicing everywhere; you finally got your wish. Gitmo is closing down, with the majority of the inmates coming here for prosecution. Now, who else sees a problem with this? Obviously not my tree-hugging brethren, and obviously not a majority of the Republicans in the house as well-the bill passed 79-19, and all I have to say is shame on all of you. There are, however, a few senators who maintain a shred of common sense. Senator Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga I think said it best:

“Prosecuting these individuals in our U.S. courts simply will not work and there is too much at stake to grant the unprecedented benefit of our legal system’s complex procedural safeguards to foreign nationals who were captured outside the United States during a time of war.”

Let’s re-hash the myriad of reasons this is such a terrible idea:

1.These people AREN’T AMERICAN CITIZENS! Why should they be afforded all the benefits of our legal system? They’re all going to be given free legal council, most likely at taxpayer expense (until the good Comrades at the ACLU step in), not to mention the benefits of a jury trial and having to be proven guilty beyond a resonable doubt.

2. How do you prosecute someone based on an evidence chain consisting of mostly classified information? Kind of makes it hard for the prosecution when they can’t display any evidence due to it violating national security. At least, that’s assuming the information has even been classified-that would be a best case scenario. Let’s pretend for a moment that it has yet to be classified, or is available via the Freedom of Information Act. Let’s not forget here, these fuckers weren’t arrested by the local flat foots out on patrol in their squad cars, complete with nice, neat, clearly typed and double spaced arrest reports-these people were tracked down on foreign soil, most likely by the CIA and other alphabet soup agencies, and also most likely through nefarious means. Now, besides the fact that we don’t want how our intelligence community tracks our enemies coming out for public record in a court of law (for all our terrorists buddies to read), let’s also remember that the chain of evidence is not clear cut, and was probably gathered through means that may be considered effective and ignored by authorities in some third world countries, but most likely frowned upon here in the states. Let’s play that one out a second:

Prosecutor: “Well Mr. CIA agent, could you tell us how you found out Mr. Habib was a terrorist?”

CIA Agent: “Why certainly, Mr. Prosecutor. Myself and a few of my colleagues deprived him of sleep, food, and sunlight for a week, and then pumped him full of sodium pentathol and speed until he started telling us absolutely everything he knew. Then to corroborate his story, I threatened to drill a hole with a power drill through the kneecap of one of his buddies (just pretending, of course). Turns out Mr. Habib is very close friends with Osama Bin Laden, has been to every terrorist camp in the Middle East, and personally helped plan the 9/11 attacks.”

Prosecutor: “Oops-sorry Mr. CIA agent, but we’re less concerned about the evidence you were able to gather and more concerned by how you got it-by the way, you’re now going to be prosecuted yourself for this testimony, and since we made you record all of your interviews with the terrorist suspects, we have plenty of evidence against you.”

Not a very rosy scenario it seems for anyone involved except for the piece of shit on trial.

3. After they fail to effectively convict any of these people (which will happen, mark my words) what are they going to do with them? There’s supposedly a provision in this prosecution bill to restrict the release of terrorists within the US, but what difference does that make? It’s not like they couldn’t get back here if they wanted to-just follow all of the Mexicans coming through Arizona and Texas. And if not here, where are you going to release them? You might as well give them their AK’s back and just drop them in the middle of an ambush in Afghanistan or Iraq, because I can assure you, if they don’t sneak back in here, that’s exactly where they’re going to go.

Good job Dick “Turbin” Durbin, Eric Holder, ole’ P. Bo himself, and everyone else who fought to make this happen. Mr. Holder, I hope you devote as much time to nailing these fuckers down as you have been to screwing over the people who captured them-otherwise, we’re all going to be living in a world that’s much less safe then when you idiots took over. This is the type of shit that makes me want to puke, and really makes me afraid for my children’s future. If it were up to me, we could just save everyone a lot of time, money and trouble by buying a couple of boxes of .38 caliber ammunition and a few good shovels to dig a really big hole. Problem solved-permanently.
